I'm not knockin' the 35, hell, I make payments on a 35 and a 37, why would i knock it...
It's got 22 more HP's and weighs about 90 lbs more, actually it's about 90 heavier than the 08 G35Xs and the G35X's are lighter than the Xs. But that should not make a difference in the seat of the pants feel. But depending on the speed you are driving on the HWY in fully auto the 7 speed gearbox is more likely to be in a sweeter spot compared to the 5 speed.

Next time I get a loaner, If I get a G37X again, I'm going have to make sure to have a stop watch and do more extensive comparisons.

Anyway call me crazy but I'm considering upgrading to a G37S coupe 6MT, auto. Just sent off an email to my salerep to get a quote.

Weight is the enemy. Period. Thats why the lighter 370Z is able to hit 60mph in 4.6 seconds.

The G37x is heavy for sure .. i think the quickness for me is mostly attributed to gear spacing and yes, it takes less time therefore to wind up to appropriate rpms when you downshift on WOT on the highway -- the G35X does take an extra few tenths to get up to speed for it's 3rd gear passing...

i'm sure a G35 5AT (2007+, no X) would pull ahead of my G37xS in a straightline race to the 1/4 mile... (both engines well broken in, that is and all else being equal); the 35 is lighter, fewer gears to shift through to get up to speed, and no AWD to lose power to

I would love a RWD coupe but just can't swing the extra $80 a month + higher insurance premium right now. If you can, go for it!!!

Actually I decided against a coupe. I'm looking at a RWD G37 Journey Sedan with the Sport Package. I'm can actually use the added room and would prefer the more sleeper look the sedan provides.

But I got new for everyone!!!!! According to a couple of dealers I've spoken to today in NJ the G37Journey Sedan does not exist.

Sorry. Thats not news. I have been looking for one for months. Its either pay a big premium and order the car from as far south as Virginia or accept your fate and get an Xs. Welcome to the club... LOL

An Automatic S sedan is like big foot. Everyone has heard of it but noone has seen it...

The good news is that all the dealers will eventually convince you that what you really want is the heavier AWD and that you will actually pay less for it becasue of the lower money factor. I am telling you now, you want a RWD auto sedan, its called a BMW 335. So the reality is, until they move all that stock they have siting since December, its either get a G37 RWD coupe or an XS sedan. Otherwise you are jsut looking for Big Foot.

I personally drove a TL when a buddy of mine drove an 08 G35X sedan next to me (coincedentally of course lol). Its NO CONTEST. He was like 2 cars ahead of me by the time we got to 30mph. TL is a great car but you can forget about 0-60 times in that thing. I speak from experiance. I do see your point though, its all relative to where you are coming from. My last car was a GS430. To me a G37Xs is eeh kind of fast, but definately NOT SLOW. Matter of opinion...

GS430 -- i'm not too familiar with its performance -- is that a 13 second car?

sheehy infiniti has 2 6spd manual in stock, black and white, Its in annapolis Md, not too too far away. They are willing to sell it at around invoice. I was interested in one but seeing how my G37 went from $44k sticker to $39 purchase price down to $30.5 in 8 months with 3600 miles, I am definitely not buying another Infiniti. Kizz my **** Infiniti. Best re-sale value my ****

Nah, it was 0-60 in 5.7 and quarter in the 14s. The G37 Xs is definately quicker but not by much. The lexus is a V8 and has more torque but the drive is boring even compared to the 2003 G35 sedan I used to have.

A LEASE IS YOUR FRIEND !!! If the risidual is around 56% in 3 years, dont expect to sell the car for more than 15-20k. I would be very surprised if you get that much in 3 years. The coupes are easier to sell in my opinion.
