gas mileage

I bought my G37S 5AT in december 07 and got 16 mpg for the first two tanks and then 19 on every tank after that. I only use premium and drive very moderately.

I haven't checked this thread lately and have no desire to read through the whole thing again, but I can say as one who likely has more miles than many on thier g that I broke it in per owners manual instructions and the mileage is increasing.

6MT
12000 miles since 11/16/2007
City/Highway mix 40/60
Only 93 octane premium since day 1
Moderate to spirited driving style usually
20.4 MPG consistently

During all city I usually get about 19.
During all highway I usually get about 24.

The secret is to miss rush hour on 59 during work commute! If you do the same drive but hit rush hour morning and evening, it drops to about 18.

So it's been a few months since I've checked my mileage via tank trip divided by gallons to fill... I'm at a little more than 4,000 miles now. The computer says my average of the last few thousand miles is 18mpg. My last tank of 100% commuting (30 miles one way, 45-55mph, no highway involved) netted 15.9mpg. That is fairly normal driving... no land speed record attempts involved. Wow.

And reading about the GT-R today in the magazine section of my local grocery store shows either R&T or C&D got 17.x mpg. 150 more horsepower and AWD and it's getting BETTER mileage! Trading up may not be such a tough authorization to get from the misses after all!

Normal city driving with no extended idling. Lots of stop lights, yes, but no crawling.

If that is the case I doubt you would be getting better in the GTR. You would probably be getting worse or close to the same.
