Dropped my car off at some independent shop to replace a leaking slave cylinder and now there is a horrible whining sound while the car is idle. Could dropping the tranny to replace the slave cylinder cause this whining noise? They claim the noise has always been there. But I drive my freaking car everyday and never heard this noise. Plus it was at the dealership a week ago for a multi point inspection and they didn't note down any whining noise either.

 

Can you record and post a video/youtube link of the sound? And does anything else feel different or any slip?
