Sport package features vs Base
Sport package features vs Base
I have a 08 37s coupe with premium package and sport package.
Is there any difference in the sport suspension and the base? I know the sport has big brakes but past that I'm not sure.
Thanks.

There are some significant differences that come with the sport package, including the suspension. See the full specs and package descriptions here: https://www.infinitihelp.com/models/...ifications.php

You can normally find differences listed in the press release kit. I found one for the 2007 G35 Coupe here and it lists differences: https://usa.infinitinews.com/en-US/r...oupe-press-kit
The 2008 37 release is not as descriptive: https://usa.infinitinews.com/en-US/r...oupe-press-kit
If I'm not mistaken, the 2009 Coupe didn't change much from 08, so this may help for overall differences: https://usa.infinitinews.com/en-US/r...pe-press-kit-3
I have owned both G35 and G37 with Sport Suspension. On the G35, the Struts/Shocks and Springs were known to be different from the base. On the G37, I know that the spring rate is different, but would need to look up the OEM Strut/Shocks PNs to see if those differ (I would never replace with OEM, always use KYB). The sedan is tricky on the aftermarket to check because many of their catalogs do not account for the 7AT sport sedan, only the coupe and sometimes 6MT Sedan: https://www.kyb.com/products/excel-g/ (Journey and Sport coupe leverage the same PN).

The 2008 G37S Coupe had 3.692:1 rear gears in both the 5AT and the 6MT.
However, while the 6MT in later years continued with the same short rear gears, the 7AT that came out in 2009 had a longer 3.357:1 gear ratio.
Right. The RWD Sport package had VLSD, while the RWD Journey did not.
The Sport Package came with a closer ratio in the steering than the non-Sport. In the Sedan, that was only for the RWD Sport Package... IDK about the AWD Coupe.
Also, the RWD configuration (regardless of Sport package) had thicker swaybars than the AWD.
And I'm pretty sure the only other difference in the suspension was the Sport Package came with Tokico shocks, whereas the non-sport has Nissan branded shocks. Again, IDK about the AWD Coupe.
As for other Sport Package stuff... sport seats, flappy paddles (in the AT), wider side sills, slightly (barely) darker headlights.

I always forget that those transitional years came with 4WAS (4-Wheel Active Steer). Was that a precursor to DAS? I wonder why Infiniti dropped that as an option?
I tried to lookup aftermarket KYB PNs for Sport vs. Base, RWD Coupe and it appears that both use the same dampers, but one can never be sure. To verify, I normally call my local Infiniti parts counter and ask. They are always happy to help.
