2008 G37 6MT Car won't Start Key Light On

Hello. I have a 2008 G37 6MT about six months ago the steering lock bricked my car. I couldn't start, roll up windows, alarm, etc. I checked fuses, hit it with a hammer and got it to work 2 times. after that it would not work. I ordered a new steering lock, Pulled the column out and changed it out. I was able to get control of the car again, windows, alarm, unlock/lock car, radio etc.. Everything but start. It will not start now. When I push the button it shows the clutch icon, but doesn't start with clutch pushed in. The key light remains on the dash. I can go to the acc, play the radio etc.

2 sets of new batteries in both key fobs.

I changed out the clutch sensor thinking that might be it. That didn't work.

'I had pop a lock come by yesterday to see if the key was programmed to car. He said the car is recognizing the key so it's got to be something else.
I purchased a BCU but have not installed yet. The tech saw it on the seat and asked if I changed out. He said that would brick my car and they couldn't program, would have to be done by dealer.

Any suggestions? It's a 2008 with 100K miles on it. Still in great shape but doesn't warrant towing 26 miles to dealer and their outrageous price.

Also last night I noticed the brake lights were still on even though the car was alarmed. No headlights are running light in the front.

If the brake lights are on while the car is off then there is a issue with the brake pedal switch. This can prevent the car from starting on 6MT cars. Being that you were working in that area one of two things could have happened: ether the switch was knocked out of adjustment, or the rubber bumper pad came loose and fell away.

These two threads, while not identical to your issue, has details about the switch and the bumper pad:

A simple test, try pulling the brake pedal UP or wedge a coin between the switch plunger and tab and try starting the engine.

I looked at the brake pedal last night. The rubber bumper pad was missing. There was a broken piece of rubber on the carpet. I pulled the bumper pad off another break part I have and the lights went off when car was locked. Did not help in starting car. Still same symptoms. Press start button, clutch logo comes up, as soon as I press in clutch it goes away but does not start and the key light is still on. Back to the drawing board.

I ran another scan on the car and this is what I get. I have a bcm and ordered the IPDM. I know the BCM will require reprogramming, not sure about the IPDM

Most of the BCM codes are incorrect. Says all four tires are flat.

I'll start with the IPDM since the starting is the problem.
