2008 coupe sport seat swap
2008 coupe sport seat swap
Has anyone swapped out the sport seats in their 2008 g37 coupe? I am an older guy and need a more cushioned ride. I have thought about journey seats but don't know if they are any better. The sport seats give me lower back pain. Any suggestions? My seats are black if anyone is interested in a trade.

Did the opposite and swapped journey to sport seats, and I would not say either is any more comfortable. Padding is the same with the only difference being the bolstering and inflatable sides / thigh extensions. If the bolsters are digging into your back though you will probably find the base seats more comfortable.
The Nissan "zero gravity" seats from a '16 up Maxima are supposed to fit and be hella comfortable.
plus they are heated AND cooled.
but don't quote me on either.
Also not sure how much those couches weigh!

I'm 6'1" and 260lbs. my seats are falling apart, and before I buy mint condition sport seats to replace my originals, id like some options if anyone has any. preferably something that fits nice and theres an easy solution to shutting off airbag lights once i take the seats out.

I don’t have much to comment on comfortability between seats, but I do have a set of mint-condition black OEM sport coupe seats I’d be willing to part ways with for a fair price if any of you are interested. They came out of my 2013 sport coupe with 65k miles on the car/seats at the time I removed them, and are well kept with no tears or stains at all. Everything works on both, seat heaters, lumbar, etc. I also have the plastic seat trim/molding that goes around the OEM seat rails. They’re kept covered in climate-controlled storage; feel free to send me a private message if any of you are interested. I don’t think I’m ever going back to my stock seats or will need them again…gathering dust is all they will do.
Side note- I’m 6’4” and recommend aftermarket seats if you are also on the taller side and willing to pay up. I have Bride Zeta III seats with Bride Type FO seat rails and the combination lowered my seating position by a good 2-3”, which has saved my neck and back. If you have to crane your neck down like I did to see clearly out of the front windshield, it’s almost a necessary expense. Some aftermarket seats (like the Zeta III and newer Bride low max seats) will of course have less padding than OEM, but my personal experience has been a major improvement- being forced to sit in a proper driving position has been much more comfortable despite having less cushioning, just my opinion. Some have optional seat/padding inserts or thicker seat cushion and back cushion pads for different body frames, and some have different variations in sizing for any body type. You can also easily save well over 100lbs vs the OEM seats, with rails included, depending on the seats (and assuming both are swapped). Recaro, Bride, Sparco, and Corbeau all make great seats and Z1 Motorsports sells universal aftermarket seat rails if you can’t find a set from the seat manufacturer, however the Z1 rails don’t slide forward and backwards. Some manufacturers like Bride offer reclining models and adjustable/sliding seat rails which is nice if you plan to get into the back of your car ever again without going through the trunk
