Trade G37 coupe driver's seat for sport seat--stone

Hey, I hope this is the correct forum for this. I have a G37x coupe 2009 and the seats are softer than the ones in the G37s. I have a stress fracture in my back and I much prefer firm seats. So I figured there is someone out there that may prefer the softer seats and would want to trade. I'd trade driver's side or both front. Stone interior. Seats have to be in similarly great condition.

Thanks!

Mods--Please move to correct forum if this is not the proper place. Thank you!

Correct me if I am wrong... But aren't the sport seats 11-way power adjustable whereas the non sport seats are not? I presume no replied to this since not many who get the sport seats would go for it. They got it as an "upgrade".

Good luck in your search though!

Indeed they are--that is not something I care much about, I just like the firmness. Figured I'd post in the off-chance that someone else feels the same way except prefers softer seats.

That said, I'd consider adding a couple bucks to make it fair.

Call some salvage yards and keep an eye out for totaled G's in your area. Thats you best bet.

Why PITA? Is it difficult to replace the seat?

Good call re: salvage yards. Thanks.

If he needs the firmness in a seat, y not just buy an aftermarket racing seat? Those are pretty firm. I would imagine one could get something that looks relatively good, and when your stress fracture heals (2 months or so with the brace and following docs orders) you could just put your oem seat back.

I have sport seats, and I wouldn't go for the proposed deal. GL in your search

Ehh re: aftermarket seats. I want it to look stock. My stress fracture is healed a bit off and a resulted in spondylolisthesis. So it's a permanent thing. It's not terribly bothersome, but I take 6 hour round trip drives several times a month so I prefer the firm seat. I understand it's a long-shot, but figured I'd throw it out htere.

pita = pain in the ****, anyways If it's the bottom you want firm, I suggest just buying some seat pad things. My mom picked up some leather seat pads that firmed up the seats in her car. They're like giant square leather pieces that sit on top of a seat, they come in different colors so you should be able to find one that matches. Probably a much cheaper alternative than swapping a seat.

I would just look in salave yards or go aftermarket. You can get some pretty OEM looking seats, but your going to pay. Nobody will trade thier sport seats for non-sport. It de-values the vehicle as well

Don't mean to thread bump but has anyone found out if the sport seats to a non sport are a direct swap/plug and play?

Take your car to an auto upholstery shop.

They can swap out the padding for a firmer grade; much less expensive, much less work, and your car will still look all original.
