Newbie here I've used this forum a lot lately and it has always helped out so i decided to ask my question on here to get some veteran opinions. So i ordered an ISR Single Exit GT Exhaust for my coupe and what i didn't realize was that it was unresonated. It comes with just the muffler and a straight mid-pipe. I installed Z1 Unresonated TP expecting my exhaust to be resonated but turns out it isnt. I wanted to see if anyone had this setup (or similar) any single exit with muffler and test pipes, no resonator. Will it be too raspy and unbearable? Thank you all.

 

Should sound similar but you will have a bit more rasp since it is non resonated test pipes.

 

Vibrant sells bottle style resonators you can add if the sound needs to be cleaned up

 

I've had tomei and I had a custom 3" and last one was a custom 3.5"

I always had a resonator in all 3 setups and it was still loud and there was still rasp

It really comes down to your choice of cat pipe (test pipe, hi-flo, stock) to control the rasp. I had a Z1 HFC and it was the best sounding and best performing. I have a berk TP on there right now. It sounds like TP material but flow seems to be decent.

Your choice of Y-pipe is also important. IMO motordyne y-pipe sounds the best hands down.
