used 2008 G37S - anything to look out for?

Hey all,

Currently looking at a 2008 G37S RWD with 110,000 km (68K miles) on it.

While I am more inclined towards a AWD this one is peeking my interest.

However I am not familiar with what to look out for in terms of issues with this year and model, so any advice would be great.

What are the best years of g37 coupe to buy? What are the worst?

Thank you!

I have an '08 G37 S with 6MT that currently has 196k miles. I bought it new in 2008 and did not have any problems until the following:

-New A/C Compression at 155k miles
-New Clutch Assembly Kit at 186k miles
-New alternator, valve gasket covers and right wheel hub assembly at 196k miles

I changed my spark plugs at 90k miles (twice now) and other than fluid changes, brake pads, and belts, etc. I have not had any issues outside of the normal service. Also, the items I changed above I do not attribute to any problems with the car, but just those parts eventually wearing out.

Hope this helps.

Hey thanks so much for your reply.

Do you live in a a winter state/city?

Glad your vehicle is serving you well! I wonder if the AWD version would be the same...

@g37g37x I have had my 08 now for a while now and funny it is just shy of 70.5k miles. Besides for the general maintenance you should be ok. You may want to install and oil pressure gauge to monitor for the gallery gasket issue although some people have had no issues. Maybe check your sunroof drains to see if you have any blockages. Mine just started to leak water when it rains heavy. My G is RWD tho so not sure what else to say but in terms of winter, a set of blizzaks always helps. I drove mine around all winter in nyc with minimal issues.

Best of luck!
