Anything specific you'd like to see used or done on a G37?

I talked my mom into getting an Athens Blue G37X Coupe and she just picked it up last night. I figured when the weather gets a little nicer, I'll be performing a full detail on it and wanted to know if there's anything specific you guys would like me to cover, or specific steps to perform, or any products you were dying to see the results of? I'll do my best to snap photos and maybe some video as well.

I only got to take it for a 10 minute rip, but the car seems like a lot of fun.

Excited to make that blue look dripping wet.

George

Well I know from experience that Dodo Juice Supernatural is amazing on the AB. I did MaxtotheG37's with this. Amazing at how the blue pops and sparkles.

I'd be interested to see how some of the other "less expensive" Dodo Juice products do.

I want to say something but can't think of it right now. What are you going to use for the chrome grill?

I want to know how your going to polish the extremely soft paint and what you're going to use.

Is it an 08 or an 09? The 09's have the self healing paint.

Damn it... I knew that too. I'm getting forgetful in my old age.

I would like to know what you have planned for the paint?

And I'd like to see some products used on the engine bay.

A little off-topic but
Whats the best way to clean the inner lining of our cars. (the beige cloth lining the pillars and roof) The inside of my B pillar is dirty from driving around with the windows down.

Thanks.

Sounds like a plan. Since saltfish suggested Dodo Juice Purple Haze, maybe I'll give that a shot.

Since the car is in pretty good condition, here's what I'm planning for the paint:

- Wash with CG Citrus Wash & Clear to strip off anything the dealer applied
- Clay using Chemical Guys fine grade clay and their Synthetic Quick Detailer as the lube
- Polish with Menzerna PO106FA on a white pad with the Flex XC3401VRG
- Burnish the paint with PO85RD on a blue pad with the Flex
- Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite Pre-Wax cleaner on a blue pad with Flex
- Dodo Juice Purple Haze Soft Wax

I may give the Optimum Metal Polish a shot as I haven't tried it out yet and heard great things. Chances are I won't be removing any etching or anything, just brightening it up.

See the game plan above.

I'll clean and dress the engine bay up. I'll probably use a combination of Optimum Power Clean, CG Fade 2 Black and a couple other products. I haven't popped the hood yet, so I don't know what I'm in for off the top of my head.

Thanks.
Typically, I'll start with some 303 Cleaner & Spot Remover, spray it onto a microfiber towel, then blot the stains instead of scrubbing to prevent spreading the dirt/contamination around.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

If there's anything else you'd like to see, let me know.

Still cold in upstate NY

I'll probably do the detail towards the end of April / early May.

Sorry for the delay.

looking forward to this.

Will you do any video stuff or just pics? A video using the buffer might be cool for a newbie like me. Always been afraid of buying one and screwing something up. Same for any of the products that require different application methods (dunno)

I'm also interested on a DIY on this new Self Healing paint, many rumors running around, that you can't polish this type of paint.
