5AT Coupe ebrake
5AT Coupe ebrake
Bought a g37 5AT, one thing I noticed is that the foot ebrake has a lot of travel to engage properly. I have to press the foot pedal all the way to barely lock. I park on a slanted driveway and it puts strain on the transmission.
I saw the manual G's have a center console ebrake which I like more.
Does anyone else have this small issue? Does the cable need to be tightened
Or there's a junkyard 6 speed that has the ebrake assembly and the plastic trim. Will it work if I swap it?

The issue isn't the location, the issue is the adjustment.
You should have a hole in the rear rotor. Its usually got a rubber plug over it. Pull that plug, spin the rotor until you see a "gear" through the hole. You can use a small screwdriver to push or pull the wheel on the gear to adjust the ebrake shoes. What I usually do is with the ebrake completely disengaged is tighten the shoes until you can't move the rotor, then back it off just enough to move. Do the same with the other side, but realize that its going to spin the opposite way to tighten. Once done make sure you put the plug back in each rotor and engage your ebrake and you will immediately notice a difference.
