Parking Problems

Hey everyone, has anyone came across an issue where your G37 (I have an '11 G37X auto-tranny) has a hard time finding park? The gear will click in to park, but the car won't realize that it is. If I push on the shifter, P will light up, but if I release the pressure, it'll indicate that I'm in reverse (but it won't actually reverse).

Sounds like you either need a cable adjustment, or your cable bushing is worn out and not allowing full engagement of park.

Under the car, your gear selector connects to a rod for the trans. This rod is slotted, when i replaced my gear selector i had to adjust this location. I was having the same problem as you, physically the car was in park but the dash didnt say it unless i pushed forward. This may not be the issue, it could be electrical, but you could start here.
