Sport Akebono Calipers w/ Non-Sport 18" wheels (No Go?)

Hey Fam,
As the title reads.
I've browsed multiple threads on here that confirm the Akebono Calipers should clear the stock Non-Sport 18" 10 spoke wheels without spacers (it'll be a snug fit but still).

I just got off the phone with my local shop and they're saying it won't clear at all. I'm not even sure if they tried or not but the mechanic said the wheel will def hit the caliper.

The calipers are off a Q50S and the Rotors were purchased from RockAuto part# 121.42100 (Front) and 121.42101 (Rear).

Is there something I'm missing? Are the Q50S calipers larger than the ones on our Sport models?

Akebonos are 100% identical from all G,Z,Q years, sedan, coupe, whatever.

I'm assuming they didn't even try it.

I put Akebonos on my non-Sport Coupe, and the OEM 18" wheels cleared them just fine.

I only need spacers for my aftermarket 20" wheels.

Why'd you need spacers? Was the offset not enough? I'm curious.

I had to have spacers for the front wheels. The back wheels fit without spacers. I run a staggered setup.
Yes, the offset wasn't enough for the fronts.

Check out how close the rear wheels are to the caliper:

Oddly, the much smaller OEM 18's have way more clearance for calipers than these bigger, wider rims.

Enkei Lusso.

I just checked, seems the sizes I have on my car are no longer available in silver. Got me worried now, if I damage a wheel!

Are they right?

Hijacking my own thread again...
After installing the Sport OEM 19" wheels I decided to give the shop another try (they are highly rated on Google and quoted the lowest in the area).

2 hours later... I get a call and they're now saying I have two of the same side calipers (right side) and I'll need a left side caliper along with 4 new rotor dust shields in order to finish the installation.

Now I know when people install these they "modify" their existing shields so the rotors can clear but can anyone verify if there's something wrong with my calipers...
They said to replace the dust shields it would be about 5 hours labor and double the original quoted price.

As far as the brake shield is concerned, when i swapped some newer rotors and calipers from a sport 370Z (same brakes) my shields were rubbing but all I did was get a flathead screwdriver and get underneath and bend the shields back a tad bit to get rid of the noise. You can always just change or remove them but its all up to you.

Go find a new shop. This one sounds like they couldn't try less.
From the photos, you have the right calipers. You will need shorter banjo bolts though. Read through the brake upgrade sticky.

As for dust shields, they're correct. To do it correctly, It requires pulling the entire steering knuckle to replace. During install I cut and bent mine with tin snips. They do their shielding job good enough.

Thanks for the reply!
Now when you say right, do you mean right(side) or right(correct) lol.
I've read through the sticky. I have the banjo bolts as well. Thanks!

Right as in correct. The bleeder valves point opposite directions in your photos. So left and right hand calipers are there.
