Where do I install my Wideband O2 Sensor?

2009 Infiniti G37S 6MT Coupe

Looking for a good spot to mount my A/F sensor. I have a Megan Racing YPipe; can I mount it where the 2 exhaust tubes join right where the midpipe bolts up?

So the G37 comes with 2 AF sensors which are the first two "O2" sensors. These two AF sensors are "Wideband" sensors meaning this car is already equipped with two of them.

Now why would you want to install an aftermarket sensor/gauge? To see your airfuels?

With a nice tablet and a bluetooth OBD reader you'll be able to obtain the individual readings from both of the stock sensors.
Why is it important to keep both? V6 engine. Being that the engine is a V config means that it would require 2 sensors to determine Airfuels from both banks.

Now if you still want to go ahead and install the gauge you bought, you'll need to weld the bung at the Y pipe where both banks merge to get the best reading. This will also mean that this single sensor will read all 6 cylinders giving you an overall AF reading for both banks and not individual bank readings.

These cars have a measured reading and a commanded reading. The car will always push the injection to stoichometric which is 14.7. So dont let it surprise you if once you install your gauge it stays between that number which is great however in my opinion too much work/money for something that the car already brings. What's best about the OBD reader is the ability to see almost every sensor and what they're doing along with CEL deletions, etc.
