I have a couple of taillight issues that I’m looking for feedback on. I have a stock 2011 G37X coupe which I’ve owned for 2 months. It has 97k miles.
The driver side taillight recently started getting some condensation in it. I have washed the car multiple times and never saw any condensation before. I have never removed or worked in it. Also, one LED light in each ring has gone out.
The passenger tail light has a different issue. One entire ring of LEDs (the small ring) is completely out and the LEDs that are on flicker.
This all happened in the last week and I have not worked on either tail light.
I know the individual LEDs cannot be replaced and I’m looking for replacements for both (anyone have any OEM ones for sale?), but I’m at a loss as to why the condensation appeared and why the LEDs started to go out. Any feedback or ides would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like you inherited someone else's problems. Maybe the car was crashed, someone broke the mounts on the backside of the lights allowing moisture in (trunk gutter drains right over the taillights), maybe the tail lights are not OEM....hard to say.

My suggestion is to get some used OEM tail lights from a newer/lower miles G and be done with it. I haven't heard of these tail lights just leaking for no reason.
