I'd like to stay under 17k because I'm going to have to spend another 5-10k doing the turbo swap. There's an 08 in Rolling Meadows right now but the interior is a little too beat up for me.

Thanks!

I live in FL and can always count on the road condition. Either wet or hot. Ice/Snow/Cold streets are so unpredictable and as you're laying power down tire friction heats up that contact making it a funny experience.
One doesnt own a TT VQ and drive like normal folks, it's a reality. The same with tolerance, safety tolerances go down the drain with more seat time, you get comfty, you learn the car, etc I know you dont want to read this however you had some speed going prior to the crash.

Every major failure I've had that I've fixed just doesnt quite feel the same. All in all if you don't get a bit of PTSD over this, once you swap to another G you can end up not feeling fulfilled.
I'd say GTR if you can afford it. Nothing quite like owning one, again that's if you can afford it.

Good luck!

I will admit, I was seriously considering it! I prefer having a manual transmission. $50k+ for an 11 year old car.....I'm not seeing it. If they were 30-40k, perhaps I'd go that route.

I didn't respond to the other part. You're right. I definitely got comfortable and had to have some speed. Wasn't the intent and my memory is like a fuzzy dream but regardless, I totally screwed up there. I don't mind reading that because it's true!

Appreciate the well wishes! Find me a $40k GT-R and I'm in!!! @BULL

Funny thing...I actually saw a couple 09 GT-Rs pop up for $45k (still ridiculous to me). However, I'd already decided to get back into a G and start the process all over again. I just picked up this 2012 Sport Coupe yesterday. Only has a usb input so no videos on the dash screen . I did get the BT going with music from my android phone but the usb connection does not respect it (plus it charges suuuuuuuper slow). So, looks like I'll be possibly grabbing an ipod in the future. Took her into the shop to get an inspection today. We'll see what comes of it.

@MyGisMyChild Hey man - I didn't want to take over the other guys thread with this discussion. I am going to keep the turbo kit and, one way or the other, get it into the new car. I'm sure I'll have some things to part out, assuming it's worth the effort removing them to sell.

Good point I didn't think of that when posting. Definitely keep me in the loop of what you plan on getting rid of! Always down to get some used parts for slightly cheaper while also helping put cash in a fellow g owners pocket for parts they don't need 🤘

Basic inspection on the new girl went decent. One of the valve cover gaskets is leaking oil (didn't really surprise me). There's a minor coolant leak that we think is coming off a clamp on the hose going to the radiator. Suspension and steering is tight and everything works. So, now it's time to begin.

I talked through the paint scheme with my body guy. I'm going to take the struts from my old car since they were literally on the car for two months before I totaled it and the new car is lowered (not my preference). Already ordered StopTech Slotted Rotors and G-Loc brake pads. Also picked up some tail lights from OEMassive...thinking about getting the headlights too. Trying to decide on wheels... I also want to paint the calipers, so I'm looking for a place around Chicago. I saw the DIY thread but while my wife's car and my totaled G are in the garage, I don't have a place to do the work.

Anyone know where I can find the "Infiniti" decal stickers for the calipers? I can find the Akebono ones on Amazon and a couple of other random places but not the Infiniti ones.

Thanks!
