Thank you
A week ago there were multiple G's i would've considered buying. Now that I have everything worked out with the insurance company, the options have dwindled.
This will be an interesting journey. A part of me is tugging at maybe its time to move on to something else. Another part of me is saying have patience and bide my time. The last part is saying sell the whole car, if someone's interested.
Specifically for the TT setup:
She ran solid for 2.5 years after the install, passed emissions twice, and never threw a CEL. Thinking about all of this makes me want to rebuild...but I'd consider letting it all go for a decent offer.
I appreciate the support and positive thoughts from you all. Truly...thank you. I'll keep you posted as things progress.

Specifically for the TT setup:
- $15k for the TT Kit, Specialty Z stage 2 clutch, 34 row oil cooler, down pipes, fuel return system and the crashbar (that ultimately saved the engine)
- $2k to get a new transmission
- $8k in labor for install

At this point you may be further ahead to part out and make some money. I started having doubts dealing with my own accident right now. Insurance decided to total my DD Lancer, even though the estimate was well under the 75% mark of the value of the car. Their "estimator" insisted the car was going to need more work than my shop quoted, even though he assured them the car was torn down before the estimate was written up. I'm not in love with my car, but it's a good car, and it only has 88k miles. Its paid off and I ultimately decided to keep the car and fix it. Insurance basically paid me $1700 more (after buyback and deductible) to fix the car, and in reality I'm making more than that due to savings of buying a lot of the parts myself, and even buying extra stuff. (That's part of the greatness of having a friend with a shop)
Of course my car didn't have near the damage you are dealing with, and is my car is worth less that the parts you have. You could also pull the parts and hold on to them for a possible future build. You're the only one that can make that decision though.

Good to hear that you survived!
This is exactly the situation that gives me pause when I consider buying a powerful RWD car. I have an AWD coupe for that exact reason.
Either I'd kill myself, or be humbled like you.
And that new 2021 300Z Twin Turbo is CALLING ME!
Oh yeah and it rains and gets icy a lot here.....

I view this as the same. Whether I build another Twin Turbo'd G or get into something else, buying a crappy DD...no I don't see doing that.
Also Jay, I never sold my track bike and i bought a S1000RR to get back on the street last year. So, I'm still on twos
. Who are you riding with here? All I keep seeing are the Chicago United Riders but there are usually wayyyyyy too many of them on their bike nights.

The pic in my avatar was a solo trip to the dragon some years back.
An S1000rr is a nice bike. Have a friend in southern CA who has one too. 15 minutes away from canyon roads. None of this riding for hours to get to any decent corners.
I've been bikeless since 2012 when I sold my fz1. I do see a k1600gt somewhere in my future.
My point is bikes go faster for much cheaper than cars. That s1000rr is like a rocket even when compared to your boosted G. Any crash that doesn't kill you, makes you stronger

Yea, I actually met a buddy at the tail back in September. It was pretty awesome and has inspired me to go back to the track. The S1000RR is certainly a rocket, much more than my CBR1000RR was. You're right Jay, that bikes allow you to go fast more easily and cheaply but at the heart of it, I'm a car guy. It's not just speed and power but the journey of building something unique.
Glad to see that you are ok. She definitely protected you. I know how you feel after i spun my MK1 TT out on the highway and hit the wall a few years back. Wish I knew bout the recall at the time. As for you, I would say you should keep looking around for a G that you can part swap. It would make the build journey that much more special. I did the same thing for the TT by getting a salvaged one that had the back slammed in and just rebuilt mine with what I needed. You never know when one will pop up and you would hate to let that opportunity slip by if your the type to say damn I shoulda jumped on it when I had the chance. Hope you bring her back to life....

Update
Definitively decided to do it all again with another G. Fun fact: It'll cost me more to insure a 2014 Q60 than a 2010 GT-R.
So the hunt continues. I'm hoping to pick up a 2010 - 2015 to rid myself of a coupe issues from the 08-09 years and gain Bluetooth audio for music
Prices are interesting, especially for manuals which are pretty rare.
