Hey what’s up guys. I currently drive a 2013 genesis sedan with 206k miles I’ve figured it’s about time I get something else and I saw this 2010 g37 coupe for sale it has 70k miles Going for 10k. I did some research and found out about the gallery gaskets killing the engine. It’s the only thing holding me back from going ahead and getting it. It looks greats it’s affordable but I how concerned should I be? The g37 coupe has always been my dream car and I finally found one in conv and now I’m afraid of going into a money pit. What do you guys think he’ll a brother out
The gasket problem doesn't "kill the engine". Car goes into limp mode, and you get it repaired. Parts are negligible, it's all labor cost, at least a full day, if not more.
And that's not a Coupe, it's a Vert. There were 3 models: Sedan, Coupe and Convertible. After that, there were 3 sub-models: AWD, Journey and the 6MT. (And then there's the IPL, which was its own thing.) So anyway, that car is a Vert, not a Coupe.

Gallery gaskets are a hit or miss tbh. I bought my 2011 coupe with 97k and now im at 110k and it hasnt needed to be replaced. I do have no prior information if previous owner ever replaced it though.
