I'm in the market for a used G37 sedan and found one in my budget that I like but it's got really high miles. 212,000. There are some maintenance records (mainly fluid changes) and it's been owned by a single older gentleman that was in sales and put on 26k a year. It's listed here I talked them down to $5,500 so far and was thinking if I could get it for $5,000 it might be an alright deal. I'd put some money away for inevidable repairs. Any opinions on this? is it a bad idea? Do you think engine and transmission will hold up another few years. I don't drive much maybe 5k a year, mainly a short 2mi drive to work and a few joy rides.
Whats your buget? I wouldn't get anything with that kinda miles, whats wrong with these? like 100k less miles and same price. These are older G's but still a VERY good car and WAY less miles
What I suspected but I guess I needed to hear it from someone else. I'll probably keep looking, it just seemed like a good deal but probably too many unknown problems.. I've been lurking awhile and reading up on the G35 and G37 and will post more when I get one. I've had Maxima's for years so am familiar with the VQ.
My budget is around 10k but would like to spend less. Sold my Prius that I commuted in as I got bored with it. I'll continue to drive my old F-150 work truck until I find the right car.
For 10k you can find them with under 100K, they be an older model but still nice. Keep looking tell yourself you have a mileage limit and stick to it. For 10k I'd be a 110K and under
I ended up buying it about a month ago. A 2009 Journey with 212,xxx miles. It was one owner and guy was 84 years old so it was babied. I have tons of service records too. It's in overall great excellent shape and looks and drives better than cars I drove with half the miles. I got it for $5,250 so think it was a fair deal and leaves me money to do minor repairs and tinker with it.
Time will tell if it was a wise choice though
