I recently had a little accident in my 2012 G37 coupe Journey and the steering rack needs to be replaced, can I use a AWD steering rack and pinion or does it have to be from a RWD car? I would appreciate some help thanks.

 

No expert but may not be compatible. Just use one from RWD to be safe.

 

I posted on my thread about finding out that ALL RWD racks were the same just different tie rods changed the part numbers

I never tested an AWD one but from the pictures it looks the RWD has a taper where the X does not

The good thing is that any RWD rack will fit, the bad thing is that they are usually more $ than X ones
