Rear Spring Perch Trim

Hi everybody, hoping you guys could guide me in the right direct.
I'm doing some maintenance on my 2013 G37S and figured I would try to lower it a little more in the rear while I have the wheels off. I'm currently on Eibach lowering springs and noticed that the rear is slightly higher than the front, not much but its there.
I saw a few mentions of cutting the rear spring perch, but have found little info on it.
I understand the concept of it: Take out the perch, trim a little bit, and boom a drop. But what I can't find info on is if it has any negative effects on the car. Ideally, I would only cut less than 1/2" so nothing huge. Is there anything (either short or long term) that I should be worried about? I don't track the car, but I do drive it spirited at times.
Thanks in advance!
