Cracked dash
There was never a settlement because a lawsuit was never filed- to my knowledge. Sure, there was a lot of huffing-and-puffing but in the end- I presume- there was not enough profit in it for the lawyers. Many had hoped that because Nissan lost their lawsuit over the Altima dash's they would own up to the problem with the 370z's and Infiniti's. Hell, even some of the $100K+ GT-R's are showing signs of cracking dashboards. No dice.
If I recall correctly, some VERY lucky owners were successful in getting the dealerships to replace their dash outright. Most have failed in this attempt, however. Some members here have replaced the entire dash with used parts from eBay and the like while others even reupholstered their dashboard Dash Repair. In all it does not seem like a complicated project either way. Unfortunately, it is up to you (us) to decide how to deal with this issue. Nissan sure won't give a damn.

Have any of you had any luck getting it professionally recovered, and not done the R&R yourself? Ideally, I’d like to have mine recovered in vinyl or leather, and not pull it. My biggest concern with the job is broken tabs, lost fasteners, and anything else that would cause squeaks and rattles afterward.
