Dash Recall

Did u all know that there is a possible recall on the G37's dash. Apparently, the glue is not lasting & the dash around the corners of the instrument cluster is starting to come undone. I just dropped my car off & asked them about the dash & one of the service managers said that there was a recall on the dash.

Not sure about a recall but they did repair mine for the same issue.

Had mine replaced once, and mine also makes the Styrofoam rubbing sound :/

Damn, I have a similar problem with the edges warping. Especially around the gauge cluster area. I'd hate having to hear styrofoam rubbing sound... should I have them replace it or not?

I had the same issue and surprisingly the dealer replaced it for free under warranty.

Recalls are for safety issues; it's a TSB to replace the gauge dash cover. I've had mine done a year ago.

Mine has been replaced twice. I think most dealers have knowledge of this issue. Around here at least, the dealers will not acknowledge that this is a problem and act like they've never seen it before. The second time, Infiniti Canada blamed me by stating I damged the dashboard and denied the warranty claim...but that's a long story.

This is a really bad quality issue for Infiniti which should have been caught when the car was first being designed. I'm sure they know the lid peels over time, must have been cheaper to design it this way. Overall, the interior in the G37 seems to be an improvment from previous offerings, but it can't compete with it's rivals in quality.

Haven't seen a TSB yet, but an updated part should be built that uses clips (at a minimum) to hold the lid together. The EX35 is designed this way.

Here is a shot of the first replacement peeling. The right side of the lid was peeling on the side and top of the lid.
