Q60 seats in a g37

Does anyone know if q60 seats would be an easy swap into a G37?

Putting 2017 Q60 Seats in 2013 G37x sedan?

I’ve been wondering this too… I feel like the q60 seats in the g37 sedan would look great starting to kinda find some research to visually see if it’s a direct bolt on like the other ones are, I think the q50 (2017) also has the same seats so I’d imagine that it’s possible to be a direct bolt on or maybe a slight modification but not by much.

If anyone else has any ideas or theories please put the input in

Physically they probably will fit.

Electronically, they will NOT. You will definitely lose the seat heat and, possibly, the SRS airbags. With some heavy wiring modification you might be able to get the adjustments to work but if either car has ADP, then probably not.

There are big differences with the electrics between the V36 and V37 chassis.

This does not even take into account any differences the REAR seats may have... the side trim pieces... etc.

All depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go and what you are willing to sacrifice.

ahhh I feel you, I still feel it’s possibly worth something to check out, in all reality there isn’t any software tieing the seats down, I agree with maybe a little bit of wiring it could possibly work fine, especially considering I’m only looking for the front 2 seats to swap, maybe if I watch a video removing both of the seats? Or installing them might be able to truly find the answer

On the electronic side, a quick check of both the G37 (2013) and the Q60 (2017) FSM's and:
  • I can confirm you will lose the heated seat. No exception.
  • You would have to check the resistance values for the SRS airbags. The idiot light might be a issue (though it wasn't when I did the steering wheel swap).
  • The seat modules will not interchange, therefore, extensive re-wiring would be needed between the "newer" modules and the car's existing wiring. Even then there are no guarantees...
Not trying to discourage you at all. It is your car and you are free to do what you want. Personally, I think it would look "dopey" to have mismatched front/ rear seats, but if you can pull it off and you are happy with it then that is all that matters at the end of the day.

ah I see, almost not worth it really but have you any knowledge of putting the convertible seats with the speaker headrests in the sedan? I was thinking about seeing if it was possible to just install the headrests but I know the convertible has cooled seats, obviously that functionality is definitely gone without jerry rigging with a cpu swap, either way I’m more interested in the headrests

I added the headrest speakers to my Coupe over three years ago- see here. For my needs, it is perfect...

I know a few have managed to get the Coupe seats to fit the sedan. Technically, they should be a direct bolt-in. There will be some modifications to the wiring harness necessary to get the adjustment functions to work. Again, the seat heating system can be problematic. The system is completely different between 2008/9 and 2010+ models, however, if you stay close to the year of your car you should be fine.

The 'Vert seats are overrated, IMO. The "cooling" is nothing more than a fan that draws air through the seat cover. Not so sure how effective that is, but... Plus, some 'Vert seats are known to have wiring issues (ie. melting connectors) due to inadequate gauging of the wires used in the heating/ cooling circuits.

If I am not mistaken, doesn't the M37/56 have heated and cooled seats as well? They might be a more viable option to swap in than the 'Vert seats- unless all you really want is the headrest speakers...

—-i was honestly more into it for the headrests, and yeah you’re correct the M does have cooler seats now I’ve never looked into them but I am curious how they actually feel because I figured the same thing that they where no more than just a fan sucking cool air up, now there is a vent under all the g37 sedan seats and I’m sure the coupes too, I just thought there would have been some type of like little air mini fold under the seat, but again that does sound like a lot for the time period

Headrests were easy. Hardest part was trimming the center "conduit" (where the wires run through) and cutting a small slit in the leather. After that, running the wiring down the seat, through the door sill, and back through the trunk to the amp was a piece of cake.

I did not as it was pretty much a straight forward affair. I doubt anyone is lining up to do the same. If so, I'll always answer any questions.

Took a look at an M seat a while back. For cooling it just scoops air out of the rear floor vents and pushes it into the seats via a fan, interestingly enough this same device has a heating element that can also force heated air into the seats instead as well as the heating elements that they usually bring.

For cooled seats I suspect that retrofitting this device to scoop air would be the first thing to start with, the second thing would be to gut a Nissan/Infiniti seat and use these vents to feed your seats. FYI foam will change as well.

The real and less time consuming/headache producing way is to find some Vert seats and gut the insides to fit on yours. The coupe style seat is the closest "appearance wise" you'll get.
