Stillen Gen 3s vs Admintuning Intakes vs Stock airbox
Hi, I'm new to the VQ community and didn't find a clear answer to this but I want to get my G tuned and was wondering if there is a huge difference in power gain between the stock airbox with K&N drop-in filters and other CIAs like the stillen gen 3s or the admin intakes. My current setup is a stillen catback and I plan on getting test pipes but don't know if I should pull the trigger on CIAs.

Admin has a proven track record for gains, but they are expensive, and require a tune. Stock air boxes are very good for OEM. If you plan on getting a tune I'd recommend a CIA, other wise stock boxes are perfectly fine to be honest.

Supra gave you good advice. If power is your focus, pair your intake plans with a tune. But if you're into engine noise at heavy throttle, aftermarket intakes will make that happen, regardless of actual power gains... and that can be fun too.
There's also the DIY bling factor in the engine bay, if you're into that.
All perfectly fine reasons to get a CAI. There's no wrong answer... except maybe the unshielded short-ram.

Definitely depends on what you're after like they said.
Admin 3" intakes = most power but require a tune
Stillen gen 3/z1 intakes = great bolt on option without needing a tune
K&N drop ins = just that little bit more out of the stock system

Reposting this from another thread:
AdminTuning intakes are silicone through the radiator support and will also require trimming along with a tune. Another great option is the Upton 3" Intakes from Mike Upton, very popular with the Z guys. I've chatted with him on IG, nice guy and makes IMO one of the better if not best 3" intakes. Trimming and tune required but these are solid piping through radiator support, the MAF sensor is located underneath for stealth look, and upgrade options available:
Upgrade Options:
-velocity stacks with bigger filters
-gold heat reflective tape, painting, powder coating
-PCV delete kit
-Throttle body coolant delete kit
-Coupler color choice of black, blue, red
I plan on going with SOHO Motorsports 69mm intakes and have Nick re-tune the car again. They had a deal at one point for $650 for their intakes and re-tune. https://sohomotorsports.com/products...take-kit-69-mm
If I change my mind and go 3" intakes, I'll be going Upton. Here's a link but best way to learn more and get the best price is through his IG, upton_mike. https://allianceracing.com/products/...coupe-or-sedan

There is also a couple Titanium options. One from CWorksDesign (he's on here and FB), who is very involved in the community and actually makes Admin's standard 3" intakes too. En from Thaitanium Performance also has his own coming with velocity stacks as well, but it's not in production form yet.

What I would like to see is a super flower.
I've noticed the Q50 box looks like it flows smoother in the back.
So a factory box that has the inlet opened as big as possible paired with a small channeling hose to feed it. Performace drop in filters and a smooth post MAF tube.
I dont know if you guys follow Eventuri on IG. They specialize in carbon intakes and 90% of their intakes incorporate a huge filter/cabin area feed from incoming air. A factory design on steroids which can improve velocity and volume at the same time.

I would like to see how would forced 3.5 into 3
or
Gut out the rad support and feed as much as you can to the stock boxes
I believe in the filter chamber, it's just much easier to go with tubes.

As I'm pretty sure something like this
Would outflow what's out there when properly tuned, this is for the Jaguar F type.
