Passing emissions

Hey guys, 2008 G37 coupe, gonna start moding soon,
just wondering how you guys pass emissions?
i live in MA and they don’t do any smog testing but they plug a computer into OBD2 port for emissions. I am planning on headers and test pipes with a cat back, as well as intake and manifold.
I see most people here tune with uprev
being that MA tests with OBD will the uprev tuning be able to trick the computer or am I gonna have to swap back to stock cats once a year?
i don’t mind swapping once a year for inspection but my other question is, are the headers gonna mess up the emissions at all?

im just hoping the uprev will lie to the computer and make it look legal lol
anyone have experience with this?
specifically in Massachusetts?

If you are tuned, and they only check at the OBD2 port, you are good. Its the same here in Georgia. I passed emissioned with test pipes with Uprev and Ecutek. Headers won't change anything, once you are tuned, Its mainly to trick the O2 sensor to say its reading normal.

Not to rip a thread from the dead, I live in MA
I have a 2013 G37 Sedan, I was going to ask if you ever went through with a tune and passed? Because in MA it’s 15 years for a car not to need emissions I know my 2013 won’t technically pass with a tune until 2028,——main question is does ANYONE know if Ecutek tune will stop a Vehicle from passing emissions or ecu come up as tuned

I'm tuned on Ecutek and live in Atlanta where for 96 and up its only visual and OBD2 port check. I have test pipes, full exhaust, intakes, ported manifolds, and pass every year. Car is all low enough the places I go to don't bother to check for cats.

As long as oyu don't have a check engine light and all your sensors are in a ready state, you'll be fine.

if all your other sensor monitor is ready, you can have the o2 sensor nonready and pass in Atlanta.

Atlanta allows for 1 nonready sensor.

my brother’s s2000 has his downstream sensor turned off and passed emissions yearly.
