I’m trying to take out my tail light and put my other one in but i heard I’m suppose to break the sealing caps?? Because they are a one-time use type of caps. So i guess i have to order two of them before i break/twist them with tweezers. What are they called ? I’m trying to find the proper name for them but i can’t find any where i can order them from. Can anybody help please ???
Remove the three hex nuts and pull the taillight unit straight out. It will be difficult as the clips hold the assembly tight.
I recommend loosening the hex nuts but don't remove them from the stud. Using a rubber mallet (or other soft hammer lightly tap on the head of each nut to loosen the clips. Once the clips pop, remove the nuts and the assembly should slide right out.
The only thing that "technically" needs to be "replaced" are the packing seals. IIRC, they are little rubber "washers" that go on the metal studs between the tail lamp and the car body. I doubt anyone has ever replaced them. I never have.

I broke both sets. They're fine just as they are when you put them back in. You won't need to replace the parts. Or use a rubber mallet to push them out.
