Trying to inquire about a brake squeal when the brakes are pressed slightly during a long stop,during a short hard break there is no squeal I'm assuming it's a break pads replacement while the car has 57k...any ideas?

 

This could be your brake wear indicators telling you to change out your pads. I had the same issue, but there was still about 25% left. It was still a great idea to swap them out because my new pads actually saved my life twice.
