Full Catback Motordyne E370... DRONE! Advice...

Hi Guys,

I need your input or suggestion. I just installed the full catback motordyne E370 shockwave exhaust on my 2011 A7 G37S Coupe. My car already has the Stillen intake and Berks HFC. When I drive on the freeway with rpm about 2500-3000 the drone bothers me a bit. I was wondering how can I get rid of the drone with my new exhaust set up? I love the new sound on my car by the way ... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not many options here. You can try art pipes they may drone less than the hfc or go back to oem cats its all a guess tho. Best bet is art pipes since theyre designed to be with the exhaust

Thank you. I was thinking of the art pipes actually. I'll do some research on it. 👍😊

I actually love the sound of my new set up. It's way louder than my previous Tanabe set up. Just the drone that I'm trying to get used to of my new exhaust set up 😊

Go back to oem cats and keep the catback.

I would guess resonated cats as well. Going back to stock cats would net you a solid power loss :/

Well they are one in the same piece. Your high flow cats connect directly to the manifold and Y-pipe. You'd be replacing the cats you have now with another pair but with resonators built in as well. I recommend just having Magnaflow resonators welded to your Berks instead of buying the Fast Intentions RHFC but that's just me being thrifty and different.

Thank you. I'll check it out and see which is the best route for me. Do you think the RHFC is better than the Motordyne art pipes and hopefully eliminating or lessened the drone?

Hard to say since the only difference will be a resonator but resonators are solely there to baffle the sound a bit so...... Hopefully Also too much drone is perceptive. You referred to your Tanabe exhaust as quiet, I think mines perfect lol.. Only one that could say is you.

Thank you . My Tanabe before was quieter than the motordyne. I also loved the sound of the Tanabe but no turning back for me after getting the motordyne. Got it from craiglist locally for $1000, used only for less than 5K miles and still looked like new . Just have to find solutions to lessened or get rid of the drone
