Rattling sound when I accelerate

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone out there had an idea of what's going on with my car. Well I've had the car for almost 2 years now and I never had any problems with it. I still don't. It still runs just fine, a/c works, gears change, smooth driving on highways. But I've notice lately (in the past few months) that when I'm at a complete stop (red light, stop sign. and it does this only sometimes) and then when I begin to accelerate I hear a rattling noise coming from the engine (I think at least) The rattle only lasts about 1 or 2 seconds and then the car continues to accelerate like normal. So it's not preventing me from driving the vehicle but this sound is really getting annoying and I don't want to have future problems down the road. Any information would help me out a lot !! Thanks !

I know my bushing located over by the rear diff popped. and some liquid came out. I'm not sure if it has to do with that. Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you guys in advance !

Who knows. Not much we can do with the little info you provided over the intetweb. It it bugs you that much get a stethoscope and start searching or take it to a dealer as we cant really diagnose a problem unless you provide a **** ton more details

My first two thoughts are 1) detonation, 2) rattling heat shield.
You're in Denver if your account name is descriptive; are you using 85 octane?

I'm also thinking it could possibly be a heat shield rattling it's more common then you think with our cars apparently from what I've been reading.

they can sound HORRIBLE sometimes, like your engine is about to explode!

happened to my other car - fixed with some big dryer hose clamps.

Yeah as stated, the most common rattle is a heat shield or even a broken exhaust hanger. Just gotta get under the car and try to shake anything and everything attached the exhaust and you'll find it.

Thanks for information. No, I'm not in the Denver area. I use 93 premium most of the time. Sometimes when I'm feeling cheap I'll put 89 mid-grade stuff.

Thanks for info ! People have been saying it's a head shield issue. Going to have to get down there and check. This puts my mind at ease at least : )

If it is the heat shield or any type of exhaust hanger I'll try dryer hose clamps. Thanks landshark

just get a long screwdriver and start poking at the heat shields to see if any are loose. you can probably just lay on the ground to do this.

you may need to jack up the car a bit for some room to work if you need to put a clamp(s) on. i put a little Fluid Film on the clamp screws so they don't rust out, too.

I had the same exact problem with my 2009 G37S sedan @ 86k miles. It was the driver side catalytic converter. No driving issues, just annoying at 2-3K RPM. The dealer changed it, noise resolved.
