Hey guys, I'm at the 70,000 mile mark, and my car is past due on a lot of the necessary maintinences, and i can feel it when i try to accelerate and i get that hesitation from 2-3k (which could be the oil filter). I was just wondering what kind of shop you guys would recommend, meaning either the dealership, an independent shop (european specialized, couldn't find any nissan specialists around here), or maybe a chain like a valvoline or something lol. Thanks guys

not a lot of info to work with, but i suggest a reputable independent who is experienced with Japanese makes. things like air filter & cabin filter, or cleaning the MAF are extremely simple so those are DIY. but if you need a bunch of fluid changes an independent shop is the best bet. even better would be to source your own fluids (look for great deals or sales online) and then provide the shop with all the parts/fluids, so you only pay labor.
oh, and an oil filter will not cause hesitation. that could be a host of other things. start by doing all the fluids that are outstanding, change out the filters, clean the MAF, and then assess if the hesitation is still present.

thanks for the info guys, I tried to go to a japanese (mostly honda) specialized independent shop, who turned me away because the car way too low for the lift. He sent me to two different jiffy lubes, who use the drive over style, and they refused the car as well :/ May end up just doing it myself lol. Its been about 14k since the last oil change, about 35k since brakes, and the throttle body has never been cleaned. I was gonna do the throttle body project in a month or so. Whats interesting is that i topped off my oil with royal purple full synthetic last month, and that eliminated the hesitation for about two weeks, which may lead me to believe that the oil filter could contribute as well as the TB's?

^ exactly, the Japanese specialist quoted me $35 for a synthetic blend, while jiffy lube quoted me $80. I normally don't let the oil go this long without being changed, but the drive from NJ to Miami threw me off guard a little. I think i will just do the job myself, as I'm 0/3 in terms of the car being too low. How often would it be recommended to change the other fluids? (i.e. power steering, diff, etc.?)
