I got an email update notice before it was on the board?

From my 2011 Service and Maintenance Guide page 7 Schedule 2; 7.5K
Schedule 1 is a waste of $$$ with synthetic or any other oil IMO. Last car I owned that had a OCI of 3.75K was a VW Beetle and had a oil STRAINER instead of an oil filter!

There are two schedules. I'd wager most of us should be following the severe schedule. I'd be curious to see oil analysis of conventional oil that was run for 7500 miles. Might be fine. Then again, it might not be.

I use a quality full synthetic and change every 7500 miles per the service manuals. I do a lot of highway miles. I'm not concerned.

No one is ever going to ruin an engine using any 5w-30 API oil that is recommended in the owners manual.

It is possible to ruin an engine with sludge buildup with long OCI no matter how expensive the oil one uses.
