Possible exaust mod?

Hey guys , im brainstorming mods i should do on my car and well when it comes to the exaust theres really no aftermarket ones ive liked even the $1000+ ones. I did like a few of the customs ones like

https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-intake-and-exhaust/249388-my-custom-straight-pipes-review.html

but hate they way going straight pipe looks, and also the whole co2 debate and what not (not really).

So i was looking around the m3 e92 forums and found this
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=447124

Apparently very common in the e92 forums as a cheap yet awesome mod.

So my question is , has anyone gutted a oem sport coupe exaust?

I'm sure someone has but why would you? It will sound horrible. Just buy a J2 off ebay.

I love my manzo axle back. Cost me only $240, sounds great and noticeable power increase

Just make sure you pick up one of these from Pep Boys after bashing out the guts of your muffler.

I had a E92 but spent the cash and bought a Akropovic instead of going the cheap way.
However, I understand.....I have been looking for aftermarket exhausts too but they all come with the huge tips and seriously I am unsure about this car with 4+ inch tips looks kinda out of place....

If you like the stock tips, just swap out your resonators with some high flow ones. I used vibrant resonators on mine (sedan) I also have tanabes. which by themselves are way to quiet.

my muffler is about to be deleted.. since it's got that muffler rattle G's are notorious for.. $150 at a shop to put in some straight pipe and weld on the existing tips.

Muffler delete with straight pipes sounds like crap. I have heard it in person and its aweful. Spend a little coin and get something that is designed for the car
