So does it still want to close on you or is it staying open?

still wants to close. Its literally the same, functionality wise, as the G37 check straps. Now maybe its my door... but my passenger side door is MUCH stiffer and often people struggle to close it and I get the comment, "jesus this door is so heavy"... I'm wondering if you bought a passenger door check strap, and flipped it upside down and installed it on the driver side, what would the results be..

But then again my passenger door could just be ****ed up :P

Lol obviously... That's not what's at question here, the ONLY thing keeping it from stopping from closing on your leg all the time IS the strap.

What if the hinges are "tighter" on the newer models??? And that strap is just supplemental

So after having this installed for a week there is one benefit. The door DOES open slightly more, giving you noticeably more room to get out of the car. I remember before I would have to get out sideways and kinda slip out of my car. Now I can very easily get out without fear of scratching my quarter panel.
