I am the new proud owner of a 2009 G37S coupe and loving it!! But need some help
So I just retired my 1993 300zxTT to the driveway after 10yrs and bought a 2009 G37S and am in love. Another amazing machine pumped out by nissan. But I have a question. So I live in ny and work in the bronx and drive to work everyday 1hr - 1.5hr w/ traffic. The past week I feel the car acting a little sluggish and am a little concerned. My drive is on the highway and the past week in NY has been 100 degrees everyday. Is there a safety mode that cuts the power if the engine starts heating up? Is that the possible sluggish feel? Also the other night a racoon tried to run the highway literally a sec before I hit him and he hit the left lower corner of my bumper. Dented the lower bumper, knocker the left corner off a little, broke out the small plastic mesh in the corner and the plastic lining of the wheel well ripped open. pushed out the dent in the plastic and popped the bumper back but is there any mechanical or electrical parts I should worry about there that can cause the sluggish feeling?? I also recently got an oil change and used the expensive ester based synthetic oil from infiniti? If anything maybe causing this please let me know. Thank you guys and I'm proud to say I own a G37 coupe!! Love it
Do you you think that you live in the "the Bronx" has anything to do with this? Jk. Could be bad gas before you bring it into Infiniti see ifthe issue persists through the next tankful.

Welcome aboard! There is a limp mode if your oil overheats, but for traffic/highway driving that's should not be your issue. You can definitely try the tip suggested above.
Hi Joe and congrats on the new G, I'm the owner of an 09 G myself and enjoy driving it every time I get behind the wheel. I have to agree with the fellow above who felt it might be bad gas. I'm driving in the same 100 degree weather you are too but in NJ and have not felt any lack of power. Hope all issues work themself out so you can get back to loving your G again.

Yeah if you're not pushing the car much or at all, you should't be overheating. Even in 120 degree Vegas weather I have no problems unless I'm on the gas hard. As for your bumper, there isn't much in the corners other than your washer reservoir, which is on the right side.
Congrats on the new G. The sluggishness doesn't sound normal. I had my 2010 G37S coupe out last Friday in the 100+ degree weather and never had any loss of power or sluggishness and I drove the car nearly all day.
By the way, since you live in NY and drive your car daily, you'll want to invest in a good set of winter tires. Best bet is to get tires mounted on a cheap set of rims so it's easy to swap in the fall/spring.
