Finally got to see a Q60 in the flesh today. The doors really do stay open in almost any position!

The door check arrangement looks identical to my G37 Coupe except the check strap has a different profile. I haven't compared the spacing of the mounting studs yet- but they look interchangeable.

Took 'em 14 long years to figure out they had to fix this issue? SMH.

I wonder if you could file down a new spot on that rod, or just make the ones already there, more pronounced so the holder gets stuck in the valley more firmly??

The lump is bigger.

Parts department told me the door check for a 2017 Q60 costs $27. Looks like a simple retrofit to me.

Then yeah, looks like the mounting points are identical? Hard part will be getting the panels off to even get to it.

Got around to installing the Q60 check strap tod

ay. Unfortunately there is not a difference. It pretty much went right in, but I did have to file one of the holes slightly larger as the bolt spacing was slightly different.

When you open the door it will naturally want to go to one lock position while the next lock position is fully open. The only thing that may be different is where this number 1 lock position is. Could just be me but I feel like I have more room to exit the vehicle now. Regardless, probably not worth your $30 and 30 min of time.
