I have a Jeep Wrangler and I never drive it on paved roads unless there is no off road option... I have found a route to work that's 100% off road.

Back on topic... My gas mileage is roughly 16 mpg in the city. I am mostly driving in rush hour traffic

J/k (I don't own a Wrangler)

I get between 21.1 and 21.4 mpg with a healthy mix of highway and city in my '12 x coupe. You guys know you don't have to floor it at every light right

Haha I used to when I first got it but almost always drive at 10-15% throttle now. Maybe its time for a new fuel filter?

I took a trip to Indiana last year. While the car has a 600 mile tank, I have only a 300 mile bladder.

Ok so all day yesterday and this morning I drove as slow as I comfortably could with only city driving. It was kinda nice actually just driving and not trying to listen to my sexy exhaust at higher revs. But anyway, while always keeping shifts at or under 3k I averaged 19.2MPG in town. My girlfriend and I are going to Branson and back this weekend so I'll drive like a granny and see what kinda highway miles I can get. This car isn't bad at all if you just drive like a normal person lol...

Looking forward to your results. I'm predicting 25 mpg since hitting 30 seems nearly impossible
Each particular car enables you to push it to a certain performance limit, whether it be power or efficiency. Of course, the G's efficiency limit is restricted by its 0.31 drag coefficient, relatively large engine displacement, and a 3700lb booty

I didn't know it was possible to drive this car sanely, maybe I'll give it a try and see if it bumps up my 12.7 mpg

Moms and i are headed to Chillicothe Ohio next Thursday morning. First long distance road trip i'll be taking my G on. I'll be interested in seeing my MPG there and back. Going there, there's some mountains we'll be going up so it should be a little better "Coming down the Mountain" - Janes Addiction....

Haha that was my problem, I only got the car in February so a combination of the new car smell wearing away, being lowered and my getting used to the CBE, I've slowed down a ton to avoid crazy bumps. Hopefully, I'll find a mid 20's average on the highway.

Ditto here.

Was getting about 18 MPG combined driving and improved to 21.8 by replacing OEM air filters, and monitoring how many miles I can squeeze out of a tank full. I do this my adding "miles driven" since fill up plus "miles to empty"

My record so far is 420- but then I open it up and have fun.

I do get over 25 mpg on steady 65mph highway.

Hope this helps

Motor is a gas hog, but what makes you think they are horribly engineered?

Right?^^ I'd say the motor has done very well for itself. I like to solely blame bad gas mileage on the weight to power ratio of the car, plus the heavy foot. If you notice, the MPG in town is pretty bad since it has to lug around the weight at a stop and go style but on the highway it practically doubles since there's far less load keeping the car at speed. Lets be real, its a modern sports car, not a Yaris.

Just for kicks, in our class we are better than our competition -
2008 BMW M3 is 14/20
2008 Mercedes SLK 18/24
2008 Mustang GT 15/23
2008 Audi S5 16/22
2009 infiniti G37 18/26
(I went with 09 since the 7 speed came out and that's what almost everyone here runs)

I agree with Kris. In my view, all cars require compromise of some sort.

If I wanted to stay stock and compete with a Z6 Vette of the line, I would go for a GTR or a Tesla. If I wanted to do mods, I would add a supercharger, new exhaust and suspension. Of course any of these options will poke a big hole in my pocket book.

My 6MT is a nice compromise for me. I get the sporty feel and look I enjoy with decent performance and the high reliability I require- all at a reasonable cost.

I also get comfort and some practicality. For example:

1- We just drove over 3,500 miles in a week and did not miss the comfort of our Audi. When we neede to, we did blow by a couple of Beemers and outmaneuvered a couple of Z-28s.

2- I also loaded a few items (including 2x4x10') and 4'x8' sheets at Home Depot without issues by flipping down my back seat and using roof (with a blanket in between, of course).

Yeah, I would like to add few more HPs at reasonable cost and without hurting reliability. Does anyone have a my ideas?

Best bet would be intake, ported polished plenum from z1 or motordyne, exhaust, and then a tune to get the most of your money from the mods listed above. It'll still be expensive unfortunately

My 08 G37 coupe had a similar situation where everything was fine until I hit 40k miles and my mpg literally plummeted. I expected a similar scenario on my sedan and now Q60 coupe but so far so good..
