Anybody get terrible mpg?

I've had my '11 G37xS coupe for about 5 months already and I thought it was gonna get better but it hasn't. Right now from a full tank, I get about 200 miles.... Considering the tank is 20 gallons, that's about 10 mpg. I strictly drive city but I was expecting AT LEAST 15-18 mpg.. I reset my ECU recently and it's still around ~10 mpg. Is there something I should get checked out or is this just normal for city driving?

Well these cars aren't the best on gas mileage but 10mpg seems really low, my 08 6 speed 37 coupe used to average 15 to 16mpg city, now I have a 2011 sedan 7 speed auto and gets about 20mpg mostly freeway driving with no stopping. Highway on cruise control I usually get 24mpg or more

Yea I know they aren't supposed to be the best but I expected to get around what was advertised, which is 18. I would actually be happy with 15. It's not like I rip it in the city either... I drive it normally and go fast only when there's an open road(rare).

I used to drive it fast all the time and stayed at 15mpg but 10mpg seems like there something wrong I would have it checked, are the throttle bodies cleaned?

I don't think the throttle bodies have been cleaned.. The only thing I've done since I've gotten it is an oil change. I'm going to bring it in for maintenance in 2 weeks... is that something I should tell them to do also? I'm at 33k miles so I'm gonna do a pretty extensive maintenance checkup.

30k maintenance includes brake fluid, differential fluid (premium service), air filter and cabin air filter. I got mine done at a reputable shop to avoid the ridiculous about the dealer wants. I would check your air filters that might be a issue as well and it doesn't hurt to clean the throttle bodies either.

Fuel manufacturers winter blends don't help. I can hyper mile it at ~65-70 behind a trailer at 33-35 mpg. 80% highway at 80mph is about 20-21 for me.

I'm weary of following semi's too close. Cost and hassle of a rock hitting the windshield outweighs any mpg savings IMO.

Me too that is why I only hide behind low "race low" trailers or motor homes as they have almost no rock throwing abilities.

I used to do this in my old Prius. It increased my mpg from 50 to 55 highway!

I get pretty similar readings in the city. My neighborhood which is only a few minutes from downtown Philly is littered with stop signs and traffic lights, which is where I do most of my driving. Driving "normally", I tend to get around 11-13 mpg

I average 21-23mpg mixed driving. I'd say 90% highway...6spd manual. Sometimes I drive like a nut, sometimes I don't. LoL, but thats pretty much my average every fill up...go between 290+ to 315 miles or so on 3/4 a tank. I usually fill up at a 1/4 of tank
