I love the way my car sounds with the stock exhaust, however, I don"t like the way the stock tips look with my Autokits X V2 diffuser. I bought a Megan axle back exhaust because I like the way it looked with the burnt tips and all, it's sound wasn't far off of stock, and the price was right. Anyways, I finally got around to having it installed this afternoon. After it was put on, and the car was still on the lift at eye level, the Infiniti tech who put it on called me over. The tips of the exhaust were touching the diffuser. I had him put the stock exhaust back on because I was afraid of burning my beautiful CF and car. Has anyone heard of this or experienced this before? Any suggestions for cat back or axle back exhaust that will 1) fit my X coupe 2) fit with my AKX diffuser.

I had a similar issue installing my Motordyne exhaust with my IPL rear bumper. I ended up lowering the rearmost exhaust hanger (directly behind the bumper). I believe it was just one or two small bolts on the bracket hidden behind the liner. There were existing holes there I could use to lower it about 3/8"-1/2". Now I have plenty of clearance and no noticeable consequences. Unfortunately I do not have pics of the hanger or the holes. Maybe this can help you?
