Tanabe Axle Back Exhaust
Tanabe Axle Back Exhaust
I'm thinking about getting this exhaust.
Looking for feed back from those who have this exhaust.
How does it sound? Do you like it? Photos of it on your car....
Thanks!

I installed this ABE on my last G-37S, so I can give you my(probably minority) opinion. Excellent quality, workmanship and fit. Relatively easy to install. Exhaust tips are larger that stock. The sound is good when over 2,000 RPMs-- with no drone. Sounds like an old truck when the 7AT downshifts at less that 2,000 RPMs. I found myself in sport mode much of the time in order to keep the RPMs up. My guess is that those owners who have the 6MT do not have this issue since they can control RPMs. The going price when I purchased mine was about $750.
it sounds deep and throaty in lower RPM. if you want exhaust that sounds obnoxious loud, this is definitely not for you. Once you go the full cbe it will be more aggressive ( I drove in the parking buildings and the sound did trigger some cars' alarm :P You can youtube many sound clips to get the idea. Hope this helps

I have the Tanabe Medallion axle back on my 6mt coupe and personally I love the sound and looks. Check my garage for pics.
Replaced the sport muffler/tips with this because the sport was too quiet in my opinion. The medallion is perfect. No drone, and if you want to drive aggressive it can get loud at the right RPM, or if you don't want to wake the neighbors stay at low RPM and creep in just as quietly as with the stock sport exhaust.

. If you want it to get loud, just press down the pedal
