Hood wont open

Okay, long story short, I pulled my grill out to attempt to wrap it in vinyl. I followed the DIY on here and everything went perfectly until I had everything put back together and shut my hood, it didn't want to close the first time (on the passengers side) so I popped it from the interior and checked to make sure I wasn't an idiot and left a tool where it shouldn't be, then tried it again. This time it shut and when I tried to pop the hood again only the drivers side releases. So I am freaking out because I cant open the hood of my car!!! has anyone had any experience with this?

Edit: okay i must have been half stupid when I was searching earlier...I started digging again and found my answer, sorry guys.

Mods, if you want to delete this go for it.

open the hood through the wheel weld and loosen up the two screws by the hood hinge. well that was my issue. I over tighten those two screws and pinched the hood release cable.

i haven't gotten to fix it yet, but i'm going to be taking the approach Pong suggested. Im sure that just like all the other threads I found on it I either pinched the cable, or knocked it off. My biggest problem is that I lost my jack and jack stands in the divorce so now I have to either take it to a shop and let them take care of it or buy a jack & stands. Maybe I am paranoid, I just don't want to start yanking on something when I'm under a car that is is balanced on the jack from the trunk.

Not paranoid. That's just the desire to not be a Darwin Award Winner.

The part that I'm curious about is loosing your jack stands and jack in a divorce settlement. Did your wife really specify she wanted the jack stands and a jack? :-)

Haha, well it was a BAD situation. It was more beneficial for me to walk away than spend time separating everything out.
It's one of those things where she had a violent/crazy streak but was about half my size. After talking to my police friends (I would never lay a finger on a woman) all she would have to do is say that she felt threatened and then I get a police record. Which she knew, and used against me. However, in my line of work it is more beneficial to walk away and keep my job/advancement opportunities.

Understood ... I just had this funny mental image like the begining of Wedding Crashers, sitting around arguing over jack stands

Haha, great movie. Not exactly, I wish it had ended that way. Would have been so much easier. Oh well, you live and you learn.

No worries, I don't have any kids or anything to tie me to her so I am moving on. Just taking it day by day. Plus it is exciting to be in a new city with a new job and now I just have to find a house to buy (this renting crap is stupid expensive!!)
