Have $3000 to spend on my 08 g37s coupe.. What should I get
Exactly what I'm doing. I was kinda "meh" about the tune until I saw the Dyno numbers after doing the big 3. The big 3(R2C's and FI RHFC/CB) produce 20-30 HP costing give/take $2000-2400. Doing the tune after that for...$500? $600?(I haven't done this part yet) nets another 15-20 HP. Would be silly not to.

You could also just get 1 of the "big 3" pickup 15 hp and not spend $2000
Regardless, he said he wanted to spend the $3000 so...I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
The post is titled: "Have $3000 to spend on my 08 g37s coupe.. What should I get".

I was responding to this:
It might not be silly to not get a tune. It depends what your goals are and if you're chasing ever last HP.
If you haven't maxed out your 401k and or IRA put the $3000.00 there.
You'll thank me in twenty years when your coupe is just a foggy memory.
Telcoman
Thanks for all the responses guys this forum is great!..
My plan is definitely exhaust (catback) and hfc either berk or kinetix?
Coil overs scare me just because here in mass the roads are far from perfect.. I'm also afraid of the dreaded bounciness which I felt in a g35 with just springs. I know springs are far different than a full set of coil overs but I really don't want to sacrifice drive ability on other than smooth roads for a little bit better looks. If I am wrong Though and a good set of coil overs really do make our cars feel awesome even on uneven roads than I would definitely consider it.
As far as my car goes it's an 08 g37s 6mt coupe with 80k on it.. I have some annoying transmission whine that worries me but that's for a different thread. The car is %100 dead stock, and I am getting bored with her.
As far as the tune from what I've been told after a few parts that is the cheapest way to get horsepower. Now I absolutely DO NOT care about gas mileage or practicality because I only work 6 miles from my home. So my goal is to build a stupid loud gas guzzling bad *** motherf@&king beast that I can tear down these ****ty roads with (not really that ****ty if your from the NE you'd understand) and not be hitting my head off the ceiling.
Also, If anyone can explain to me like i am 5 years old in how the Uprev software works you would be the man.
My budget is probably going to be blown way past 3000 I could probably stretch it to 4500. Just because I HAVE to get some good wheels. That is the only thing I really want to do for looks but makes all the difference.
Last thing is I heard and read that any aftermarket intake Will rob HP because nothing is better than the stock Gs intake.
I'll keep you guys posted on what I end up buying, and if anyone has any parts they wanna sell I'm all ears, I've been on the classifieds page for hours looking at parts, definitely the best most cost effective way to make the G how I want it.
Thanks guys!

Depending on the quality of coilovers and how you have them set, they can absorb some shock in the cabin from smaller bumps.
The intake thing you heard is far from true, our cars actually benefit slightly more than average for just an intake as long as you get long tube intakes. (Ie Stillen gen 3's or Takeda)
If you want loud, GTHaus meisterschaft is LOUD and mean! It's decent under normal driving, but gets crazy loud when you step on it.Motordyne E370's and Ark Grips are also pretty loud if I remember correctly. No matter what you'll want hfc's though.
As for rims I have a front pair of Vossen Cv5s for sale in silver, haha

PM'ing you about HFC's...
Also, just for further clarification, contrary to Sway's comment, the ARK catback is very quiet. There are videos on youtube that show the ARK V stock catback, and the ark is quieter based on a DB meter. I have the ARK catback, and it's in the same volume ballpark as the stock catback, but it sounds WAY better, and feels like it opened up a bit of power. So if you want your car to be stupid loud, the ARK catback might not be the best choice in catbacks. But the GTHaus and Motordyne seem to fit that bill.
