No difference until 90+, and 0.7 second advantage to 130 doesn't sound like a big HP advantage

Is the suspension really that different?
The handling feel in the IPL.. stock for stock is definitely better to me.
more direct and quicker steering. More confident feel in tight turns. More communication from the tires.

Coming from a e9x bmw, steering was what i felt to be my biggest compromise. I actually got my 2011 instead of a 2012 just because of the steering. New body style went electric.

Did your car come with the 275/245 tire set up? My IPL that I bought used only has 255s on the rear (i think) and I was wondering if it would make a difference in handling. The handling is already pretty good in my opinion but just curious.

I'm surprised there is such a difference stock to stock. The only difference I can find is the spring rate, which is 20/10% stiffer, F/R

The IPL come (stock) with the same size tires as the S.

I paid 29.3k for my 12xs coupe with 25k miles so if I were you I would just look for a 2011 or 12 S coupe you should be able to get one with half the miles you were specifying for what your willing to pay and still have money for mods.

If you will keep it stock get IPL, for extra 5k you get upgraded bumpers and sideskirts, wheels, fully loaded and slightly better exhaust, a few extra hp which you will not feel. If you plan on doing any mods, get G37S as all those things and much more can be done for 5k.

The S has the same swaybars and tires as the IPL, so the difference is going to be springs, and maybe shocks (assuming they are revalved for the IPL)

Remember the IPL and S have faster ratio steering, no suspension upgrade to a non S is going to get you the steering feel of the IPL/S.

While we are talking differences, I think the IPL has the NISMO R-Spec brake pads as standard equipment.

Best tire setup is 245.40.19 F 265.35.19 R.. MPSS tires.

Best roll bars are the cusco.

Best springs swift sports.

Best coilovers KW or Cusco

Best based on what?

And I think you mean 275/35/19

And I dont think anyone could tell the difference between Cusco, Eibach, Stillen, etc swaybars.

I'm particularly fond of my Swift/Koni combo

Yes you wont match the feel of your BMW in the IPL.. BMW had that on lock in that generation.

Mine came with 225F 245R.. I upsized the tires to 245/275 myself. I have an "S"
The wider tires improved stability in the corners and made the steering feel quicker at higher speeds.
If your IPL came with 255s rear then someone upsized them.

I was surprised as well .. But somehow them pulled it off. But its amazing the difference spring rates can make. I went from Tanabe to Swift, and the swift just feel so much more stable
