IPL is worth the money. I would get that plus it's newer and reliable.

I think $28+K is a little on the high side, I would negotiate and do my best to bring down the price closer to the 25K mark. If you are not in a rush then keep looking, when I was shopping I was nearly sold on a black G37S MT, but the price was a little higher than I was willing to pay, then I found my car at a lower price and with everything I wanted. I test drove at least 4 Gs and contacted about 10. I think theres enough inventory out there that you don't have to compromise on things that are most important to you. If you are not comfortable spending $28+K on that IPL then don't. It's all about you!

If I were in your boat I would wait for something else to pop up like ang37 said. I got my 08 g37s 32k miles for 17.5k so if you wait enough i"m sure you can get either one for under 25 slacks. Honestly I would go for the Ipl for those lips and bragging rights but the S ain't nothing to lose either.

I'd save the $5k and get a regular S, considering they have roughly the same mileage.

While the newer IPL might have some of the factory powertrain warranty left, $5K would go a long way to an extended warranty.

At 50-60K, I'd personally consider the stock dampers near the end of their useful life. Again, the savings would go a long way towards refreshing the suspension, even if you don't want to go lower/coilovers and stay stock.

I always say. If you dont have a G coupe and you are looking to get one, go with the IPL.. I would not trade a G for the IPL.. dont think the loss I would get would be worth the upgrade. You can still do some of the same upgrades you might do on an S.

In this case the newer/ upgraded version is what I would personally chose for just that amount of money difference.

Don't forget to compare the bluetooth streaming capabilities of each model. No streaming in an '08. I don't know if they got that fixed for '09 but I would sure hope it is fixed by '11.

Imma keep looking a little more. It's not that I can't afford it, but I feel like I don't want to pay that much for a 2011 IPL. Don't feel like I'm getting that much more car for the money.

Going to listen to you guys. At least for the short term. $30K for a 55K mile IPL just feels like I'm paying too much. I'm mostly afraid the value will suddenly drop when Q60 debuts.

Good to note about the suspension. Didn't even think about that. Though right now some of the better 2011 G37S are going for about $25K. So it's turning more into a $3K-ish difference. Comparisons are starting to favor the IPL again. *sigh*

I'll be honest and say some small part of me wants to be a badge ***** and get that IPL. I've always been indifferent to infiniti too lol.

Coming from 2 335's (infamous n54 and diesel) I know what you mean. Honestly they're solid cars, except **** breaks every now and again. I actually don't remember too much about the N54, but I think I had 1 or 2 issues in addition to HPFP (happen to me on the freeway. not really a big deal. people are crybabies. it's like limp mode +1). My diesel kept having issues with the diesel particular filter; which I checked is like a $2-3K part. Could be my short trips that kill it, or could be a ****ty part. Either way, problems. Also had a pipe connected to turbo crack.

I'm actually still a huge bimmer fan though. Overall they were still great cars with superb engineering. Man... all this talk makes me want to get a 335 again, but I don't want to deal with maintenance BS... so still no.

Thanks for pointing that out. I 100% won't get the 08 model then. Probably not 09 either. I think navigation upgrade came 2010. Really sucks too. I wanted to get a 08-09 as my cheaper ~20K option. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I need my creature comforts now. I feel like my BMW's have spoiled/corrupted me.

originally I liked the IPl for the complete package. Now I feel the front bumper is hideous. Also like you I could not justify the 5k upcharge. Now I know that 5k includes wheels, suspension, exhaust so it's' really not that bad. And like others have siad.... It's done. Bolt ons probably wont get you to the ipl's hp. I ended up with a '10 G37S non nav...

2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe Test ? Review ? Car and Driver

No difference until 90+, and 0.7 second advantage to 130 doesn't sound like a big HP advantage

Is the suspension really that different?

I have a hard time believing aftermarket bolt ons won't be as fast as stock tuned. I feel like manufacturers usually lean towards maximizing performance.

@Kroy you're gonna get the IPL, I can feel it! lol Because at this point it seems 2010 and older are out of the question so the price gap has shrunk even more now.

Did you check Cargurus.com for the IPL you're looking at? Not sure where you're located but it's middle of winter -- they aren't moving sports cars like talking about it. And if the car has been on the lot for a while you will have leverage and they will go lower.

Walk in and tell them $28k out the door. They'll say no of course (cause that's what dealers do). I wouldn't pay more than $28.5k out the door though.

Yeah I'm not paying $30K for any used Infiniti with 50K miles....For that money I rather get a high HP V8 domestic.
My 10 S was $24K with 21K miles.

I really just might now.... I found one last night but it's out of state. Clean carfax and pics look good and so does price. But it's in GA and I'm in CA. What do you guys think about buying from out of state? This one is super far away.

Only if you can get it inspected. There are several services that will do this for a fee.
You might be ok if it's a real dealer, but.....
