Q60 Final Teaser - Revealed in Detroit
Could be but it seems like they went into the review with a bias and negative mentality from the start(seems like they were ready to clown the car imo). Less than 2 minutes in before we hear a BMW comparison but i guess that's to be expected. I wonder why they tested the 2.0T and not the 3.0T? I don't like Sedans so hopefully the Coupe is better.
However if you watch the review they don't say it is bad , they just say that it does not stand out against the likes of Mercedes, bmw or audi which is probably right.
The review was spot on about DAS. It's a gimmick. (I previously owned a 2014 Q50 Premium the the Deluxe Touring Package).
Looking forward to test drive the new Q60 with the "revised" DAS though just for the hell of it.

Another R&T review. There is quite a bite of an undertone that maligns the brand in many of these reviews.

The re-badging of all their cars for no reason along with the weird electric steering didn't help that image, and I think a lot of people (this forum included) really thought that when the new engines came out and the new cars were revealed that Infiniti was really going to step it up and start punching at BMW and Mercedes. By taking this approach Infiniti keeps themselves in this same middle ground they've been in for years. Sportier and faster than an Acura but not as luxurious as a BMW or Merc with performance similarly placed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly no expert, and I do in fact like these cars haha. I haven't had a single regret about buying my G. They are reliable, well appointed, quick cars. But I guess Infiniti is comfortable going after the lower price bracket, and that isn't going to lead to increased respect for the brand's name or make reviewers and buyers take a step back and say "woah, this is an Infiniti?"
To someone who doesn't frequent the forums and mod their car and really like this platform, Infinti looks like it's going through the motions. And this car doesn't seem to elevate them in the eys of reviewers. Joe and Jane driver might see things differently. Time will tell.

To the reviewers recycling each other's stories we get it. You don't like:
1) The Q/QX naming conventions
2) The DAS Steering
3) That it's not a BMW
It's annoying that the German marques are considered some gold standard of automotive excellence that all other cars must bow at the throne of. Yes, they may drive well, but I can't get past the crappy interior layout and design and the **** reliability if you dare to own one out of warranty.
They got their mechanical engineering down, but they must have skipped electrical engineering all together.
to be fair, Infiniti had been rehashing the G37/Q60 since 2008 with little change ... and charging a premium for it.
they get compared to BMW's and MB's because they are a similar type car - a bit of performance wrapped in luxury. Not many people know much about them anf Infiniti's marketing isnt helping. i consider myself a "car guy", and all i knew about them was that it was a Z with a backseat. LOL
i had no idea they are pretty reliable. didnt know about the RWD-based AWD - i just assumed FWD-based. this is stuff Infiniti should be pushing.
it would help if they don't wait almost a decade before the next Q50/60 get updated ....

I agree. The marketing could be better. Their commercials tend not to focus on any of the features you mentioned. I think the Fukushima nuclear disaster probably had something to do with the delays. Products were delayed from several Japanese companies, with Nikon being one of them. I think this car (Q60) would have been here two years ago had Fukushima not melted down.
I would guess those are preproduction models used for Advertisement, traning, media events and so on. Since I don't know what the plates look like on a standard car in Dubai or if they even have special plates, idk which it could be. The Q50s we drive with the VR has a special Tennessee plate that said commercial or something like that.
Also, what is on the trunk? Either way, I don't think anyone out side if Infiniti owns that.
OR, its a home made replica. You be suorised how many cars are rolling around in Dubia that look like a concept, exotic, etc that hare homebrewed. Those guys have nothing but time and money.
