G37x Plans

It's been a little over 2 weeks since I picked up my G37x coupe and I have a couple of things I'd like to do. After much self debate I've decided to go with the cosmetics, then suspension then performance. Here's the list (some minor, others not); feel free to leave any feedback, especially in the wheel/suspension area.

Cosmetic
  • Sport Front Bumper (2011+ I think) seen here http://photos.ecarlist.com/PO/5n/k2/.../ZD/nQ_640.jpg
  • Grill painted to match body (or maybe matte)
  • Rear Diffuser
  • OEM Trunk Spoiler
  • Debadge - G37x(done), INFINITI(not yet)
  • Keyhole delete (ordered)
  • IPL Side Skirts
  • Paddle Shifters
  • GTR Start Button (installed)
  • Painted headlights
  • GTR style tail lights

Suspension/Wheel/Braking
  • Fortune500 Coilovers
  • Strut Brace
  • Sway Bars
  • BBK - likely
  • Wheels
    F - 20x8.5 - 245/35/20
    R - 20x10 - 285/30/20

Performance
  • Takeda CAI
  • Z1 Intake Plenum
  • CBE??
  • UpRev Tune

As far as the wheels, I did a decent amount of reading, and I think that setup would be safe for the AWD so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, if anyone is selling anything on the list, please contact me; can't go wrong saving money right

Cosmetic
Suspension/Wheel/Braking
  • BC Racing Coilovers Might look into the Fortune 500s, they've been getting nice reviews.
  • Strut Brace
  • Sway Bars
  • BBK - likely Be sure to keep this in mind when selecting wheels, here's a template you can send to the vendor(s) to confirm fitment
  • http://infinitig37.com/tech-images/akebonotemplate.pdf
  • Wheels - especially looking for feedback here
    F - 19x8.5 - 245/40/19 Offset +25
    R - 19x9.5 - 275/35/19 Offset +30
  • Best tire combos for AWD would be 235/40/19F & 275/35/19R, rear 0.67% larger
  • or 245/40/19F & 285/35/19R, rear 0.51% larger
  • Having the rear slightly larger in diameter is preferred since the rears wear faster, so over time the front to rear variance will improve.

Performance
  • Takeda CAI
  • CBE
  • UpRev Tune

You didn't mention your wheel budget but some great looking wheels that are high quality I'd give these a look
TreadDepot.com: SSR Wheels
For wheels that are good looking but easier on the budget I'd consider these~
TreadDepot.com: Niche Custom Wheels

Thanks for the tip. Planning on getting them after winter so I'll know how much I'm spending then

Not sure if this is OK to mention or not, but I just got rid of my 2010 G37X Coupe and I have a thread in the private classifieds where I'm selling my complete Accuair E-Level Suspension set up with everything included for a great price. You can find the link in the classifieds section. It's practically brand new, only a few months old. PM me if you are interested.

Dipped Trunk Lip

The chrome trunk lip bothered me so I had it dipped black. Think I'll put on some BlueBat overlays soon.

Good start, instead of tinted or smoked tails, i would spend a little extra and do the GTR tails IMHO. It looks great with an OB coupe.

Agreed^^
This DIY is good for general tinted tails (painted)

And with the GTR look (which does look awesome day & night).

As far as coilovers, the Fortune 500s seem to be about the best option for AWD Gs, the BCs have had issues.

I guess I neglected to mention, but that's what I'm doing

I see you are debating about suspension and wheels. I went an unorthodox route that has worked out really good for me. I have staggered wheels and the same size tires all around. I am lowered on eibach springs and the ride quality is great. No issues with awd either since all of my tires are the same size.

Front: 20x9 +28 Rear: 20x10.5 +35
255/35R20 all around, continental dws

I have some more pictures in my build thread if you're interested.

Yeah Ryne, I actually bookmarked your build thread. I quite like the results.
Definitely going with 20"; thinking staggered but I may change my mind when I'm actually going to buy them post winter.
