like stated above your insurance should have you covered in the event an uninsured driver hits you. Needless to say this accident wasn't your fault so I don't see why your insurance would go up (I'm assuming it's not your fault and hopefully that is captured in some police report). Either way your insurance should be taking care of it and if they are tinkering around then I would def. get lawyered up to peruse this matter even further and go as far as making them pay for your lawyer fees as part of an inconvenience.

Totaled 06 G35

I was hit by an uninsured motorist 3 weeks ago. I have AAA and they handled everything. Luckily I was running full coverage with uninsured motorist. I wasn't happy that my car was totaled but with 10K worth of visual damage I didn't want to get the car fixed and find out it was going to cost more to fix once they tore it apart.

I used the insurance money and some out of pocket money to buy an 08 G37 couple. It has 50K less miles and a newer car so in the end I think I made out ok.

+1 Could not agree with this more. Make sure you go with a quality insurance company that will take care of you in the event of a big claim. State Farm is one of the best. Other companies may have slightly lower rates, but you get what you paid for. By trying to save a few bucks a month, it could cost you thousands!

Insurance rep came to evaluate the damage yesterday and they were suppose to call me back with a quote of the damage today , no call..
And they said if I take it to a shop of choice I have to pay the difference witch I think it's ridiculous , why would I pay the difference if it wasn't my fault .

Maybe I should do what you did , I honestly don't want no one to touch the car , trust issued knowing insurance shops usually do Bouges jobs .the car had never been in an accident that's the reason I bought it . Wouldn't want to be driving knowing it lost value

Tell the insurance company the car is undrivable so you atleast get a loaner. That way you can take your time finding a shop. Depending on the insurance company you are bound by the policy and what it says about a shop. You may want to contact your Infiniti dealer and find out where they would send their cars to have body work done.

Find your own shop, you can do better than the "budget" places dealers use.

I've been told of a well know shop in Chicago , but my insurance wants me to pay the difference in price that they charge by the hour , .

Wow... Good luck with everything! As others have mentioned, your insurance company will file action against him. They should also seek to recover deductibles on your behalf (save all receipts). Unfortunately you'll have to pay some out of pocket and up-front expenses, but should make a full recovery when the claim is closed.

Uninsured/Underinsured is a very important coverage to carry.

I live in CT and thats totally illegal here. By law you're allowed to pick whatever shop you want for repairs and insurance companies can't force you into any specific one.

Also my wife was hit by an uninsured driver who was driving someone elses car and had an expired license. I dont remember specifically if we claimed it uninsured or just ate the damage, but a couple months later out of nowhere we got a check over it all. I dont remember for sure but either the state or the insurance company chased after the guy and made him pay us back for the damages. It was just a small fender bender, but it still was a bitch to deal with the whole nonsense.

You got a check because in the case of an uninsured motorist your insurance company will act as the other party. For example if you have any medical issues, your med pay coverage would pay for the treatment and then your uninsuredotorost coverage would pay you back for that.
