first impressions

well, I brought home my 08 G37s 6mt on Thursday, I refilled and Friday morning my SEL was on, ohhh no, I took it to a checker and they pulled a P0300 doing my research on here, looks like it could be one of a million different things, I burned the tank of gas with some injector cleaner, then refilled with another bottle of fuel system cleaner and NO MORE SEL!!!! but at the gas station my low tire light came on, its been cold the last few days so I wasn't paying any mind to the TPMS light, but today I inflated every tire to 35psi and drove it around (20 miles avg speed 45-50mph) and its still on, new tires on order they will be here wednesday, any other advice on turning off the tire pressure light?

As for the first impressions: it is a solid car with a responsive amount of power and torque that applies itself solidly to the road, the 6 speed keeps the RPM down while on the highway which is nice when you have a vehicle geared the way this one is, it is comfortable and a pleasure to drive, until you have to adjust the radio, reaching to the top of your dash is a bit of an inconvenience (when compared to the BMW 325i where the same control **** is located so your hand falls naturally on it from the armrest)

I am not too happy with the service engine light or the TPMS lights failure to turn off, if it weren't for my time in the military I would have snapped at the stress it would cause so soon after buying it, fortunately I am a bit more patient than that and understand that 1. its a used car and 2. its a car

overall, so far; a great experience, next sunny day I will get pictures of it next to my Harley

I feel your pain on the p0300 code. I bought my 2008 coupe a few months ago with the stillen supercharger from a "respectable" nissan dealer who is a stillen dealer as well. The SES light came on the day after i took it home and the dealer wouldn't do anything about it since it had the supercharger. I ran two tanks of 91 octane through it and it finally turned off. I just chalked it up to the dealer putting low quality gas in when I bought the car. Haven't had a problem since though.

As for the TPMS light, maybe they need re-synced with the car? My old 350z's TPMS light came on when I accidentally switched the two rear wheels around and re-syncing it made it go away.

Are you taking the psi reading from a digital meter or the hose from a gas station? I was trying to set my tpms sensors using just the hose gauge at a gas station but it never worked. Picked up a cheap portable tire inflator compressor machine ( powered by the cigarette lighter ) and it's digital and haven't had a tpms issue since.

I have a compressor at my house, and a pencil style tire gauge, (I was a mechanic before I joined the army and have all the tools i should need )

i set them all to the exact same PSI (35 according to the pencil gauge, 2 tests per tire for accuracy) is there a way to see in the display what the tire pressure is according to the TPMS sensor?

No way to see the pressure on display. The battery could be dead on one of the tpms, or they might just need to be resync. Tpms generally last up to 5-7 years I've read.

did you say that the 6mt keeps the rpms low on the highway?? I do alot of highway driving in my g37s and (especially with an exhaust) i hate how high the rpms are. im touching 3k at like 75mph too high for my taste. Dont get me wrong, its great that i dont have to downshift when overtaking but I feel like it could use another gear at times haha. But congrats on the purchase!

considering i find myself changing into 2nd gear before going through an intersection to lower the RPM's at 15-20mph, the 6th gear keeps them lower than 5th
