Went in for a free oil change at the dealer today (@ 3800 miles).

The invoice showed a crush washer, a nissan filter and Pennz gold 5w30.

I'd never heard of this until today, then found about 10 qts of it at Walmart in my hometown. Must be new stock for the WM as it wasn't there about a month ago.

It's apparently 50% synthetic, ever heard of it?

I think Gold is one level below Platinum. Gold < Platinum < Ultra

 

Heard of it. Never heard of anyone actually using it. It a synthetic blend. Most would either be completely cheap and just buy dino oil if they don't think it matters and want to pinch pennies or spend a few bucks more and buy a proven excellent fully synthetic oil like Pennzoil Ultra.

 

Probably not a bad oil, especially for a free change. I've been using their full synthetic products for a number of years and engines.
