Whats up G37!!<o></o>

Hey guys my nameis Mike and I just bought a 2008 g37s 6mt RWD, hence why I am at this forum.Just a little background to start, I started my mods with a 1991 Honda Accord Coupe.I used to go for rides with my buddies and did a few mods. On a ride so of theroad came off and I crashed that car and had to get a new one. Which was a v6 Hondacoupe six speed. I got some mods on that car but it really didn’t do much, orhave many parts for that manner, aka why I got my G37.<o></o>

<o></o>

Which brings me tomy question. So with that said I decided to get some performance parts for mycar. The mods I choose to get were, Stillen Gen 3, Stillen headers, StillenHFC, and Ark exhaust. For the supsion I got Ark coil overs, Hockins F/R swaybars, and stop Tec drilled rotors, pads and SS brake lines. To bring it alltogether I got a upreve tune. <o></o>

<o></o>

Well the tune didn’tcome out so well. I dynode on a mustang dyno and came in at 309 hp at 7500, and222. Tq from 4000 on…. Dyno and af will be attached when I can get to a computerwith scaner, and the shop has to send me the AF. When I question him as to why,he said that was the way they come. I knew the second I saw the dyno that he didn’ttouch the vvel setting and questioned him about it. He then told me he doesn’t tunethat because “the engine will blow up”. Well at that point I took the car andwas really pissed and didn’t know what to do. So I choose to post up my mods onthe forums and look for some advice for what to do next. <o></o>

<o></o>

The questions I haveare as follows, Is this a good tune for the mods/car? Am I just expecting tomuch? Do I need to get the vvel tuned or is this what my car is? Does anyoneelse have dyno’s with similar mods so I can compare. Also I based my expectationson the dynos section of the engine section on these forms. I was hoping for300-310 which he hit, but I wated to get 240-260 tq. I came up with thesenumbers from the page I just mentioned. Well thanks in advance and I look tohear you advice!!<o></o>

Welcome to the forum. UpRev does not allow tuning of VVEL as yet.

When I call upreve they said they did. They said I had to go to a shop in NY. He also said they don't release that software to many because they might blow up the engines. So what do you think I should do then?

That's pretty similar to what I got with my uprev tune and very similar parts. I don't have a scan of my run, but the numbers are in my signature.

These engines are incredibly efficient right out of the box, so aftermarket parts don't add much power or tq. The tune also depends on the ambient air temperatures and humidity. It looks like you just went to the shop which leads me to believe that it was a hot, and probably humid day in CT. That could play a factor in the numbers.

Tq

Yea I see, but my tq is very low. You have 30 more tq then me. that is what I want to get my tq around, and what I expected with my parts. Thou it didtn get there thou.

This is one of the best pieces of advice I have seen on this forum.
